December: What’s Happening in Brantford

The holiday season is among us! Brantford is home to some fantastic events this December, with something for everyone.

Brantford Lights at Glenhyrst: December 1 – January 1, 2018

Every night at Glenhyrst Art Gallery the gardens will be lit up from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM until January 1. Drive through the winding drive and gaze upon the beautifully decorated lights, or park the car, grab some hot chocolate and walk through. Each Thursday leading up to Christmas, Santa will be on duty from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. While Admission to the Gallery and event is free, donations are appreciated. The lights at Glenhyrst are something you don’t want to miss!

The Living Nativity: December 7 – December 9, 2018

Presented by Freedom House Church, The Living Nativity comes to Harmony Square in Downtown Brantford from December 7 – December 9 with performances starting at 7:00 and 8:00 PM.

Paris Taste of Christmas & Night Market: December 8

Indulge & kick off your holiday season with some warmth and cheer at the Taste of Christmas and & Night Market at the Paris Fairgrounds on Saturday, December 8 starting at 4:00 PM. Travel through the tunnel of lights and be greeted with live music, artisan crafted goods, and warm beverages. Admission to the Taste of Christmas & Night Market is $3.00 per person with children under 12 free.

The Nutcracker – A Canadian Tradition: December 9

The Nutcracker is an iconic Christmas tradition. Created by acclaimed choreographer and artistic director Bengt Jörgen, the Nutcracker, A Canadian Tradition is set in and around Algonquin Park in 1912 featuring loons, and the flower of Ontario, the Trillium. Travel on the Canadian journey with Mounties, snowflakes, and more! The play will take place at the Sanderson Centre on Sunday, December 9 at 7:00 PM.
